01-19-2006 Louisiana Calling Ban Lifted
Pursuant to Louisiana R. S. 45:844:31, during a state of emergency as declared by the governor, no telephonic solicitor shall engage in any form of telephonic solicitation. Executive Order 01-2006 (Issued January 19, 2006) Executive Order 01-2005 (This Order was ratified in whole by the Commission at the Business and Executive Session held November 9, 2005.) Executive Order Number 01-2006 was issued on January 19, 2006, and lifts the solicitation bans put in place by the States of Emergency declared by the Governor in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in area code 504. This order works in conjunction with Executive Order Number 01-2005, and previous Commission orders that similarly lifted bans in area codes 225, 318, 337, and 985. Effect: Solicitations in compliance with the Commission's Do Not Call General Order to all Louisiana area codes are now permitted. Section III(G) or any other Do Not Call solicitation ban pursuant the States of Emergency declared in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita will no longer be enforced. |
